From 21 to 23 October 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming three colleagues from VO Rosenhof (Oslo, Norway) to Crescendo CVO for an Erasmus+ job shadowing visit focused on Dutch as a Second Language (NT2).
During three intensive and inspiring days, Siri Høie, Kjersti Kjølstad Stagrim and Anniken Jensen Scheich immersed themselves in our classrooms, met staff and learners, explored the School and Parents project, joined activities in the Predikheren Library and discovered how adult education is organised in Flanders.

One of the absolute highlights was the School and Parents project. After first learning about the objectives behind the initiative and then visiting a class at GO! De Dubbelsprong, our guests gained a concrete understanding of its impact.

They spoke with participating mothers, visited the children's classes, and experienced firsthand what it means to learn in an environment where language acquisition, social connection and support go hand in hand. They were also impressed by the warm and thoughtfully designed preschool classrooms. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into how education can empower parents while simultaneously strengthening their involvement in their children's schooling.

Het bezoek aan het AGII verduidelijkte het onthaal van nieuwkomers en de mooie samenwerking die Crescendo CVO heeft opgebouwd. Er zijn zowel overeenkomsten als verschillen met de werking van het Agentschap in Noorwegen.

Another inspiring activity was the Reading Club at the library. It sparked engaging discussions about the importance of inspiring learning environments and strong community partnerships. Our Norwegian guests were also particularly impressed by the way language learning is connected to everyday life, vocational training and active participation in society.
By joining NT2 classes as learners, they experienced firsthand what it feels like to learn a new language. This offered valuable insights and strengthened their understanding of the challenges and opportunities their own learners face.

The exchange also provided an opportunity to compare educational systems, discuss learner guidance, certification and teaching practices, and learn from each other's experiences. Several ideas, including community-based learning, integrated language and vocational courses, and stronger cooperation with libraries, will travel back to Oslo.
The visitors described Crescendo CVO as a welcoming, innovative and learner-centred organisation, and left with new perspectives, practical ideas and renewed inspiration for their own teaching practice.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this successful Erasmus+ mobility. Together, we continue building bridges between classrooms, communities and countries
The visitors leave Mechelen with fresh inspiration to bring language learning closer to real life through community partnerships, library-based activities, integrated learning pathways and stronger connections with professional sectors.
