On Sunday, April 27, our Mechelen campus was fully dedicated to Heritage Day. Under a bright sun, we welcomed many visitors, curious about the craftsmanship that thrives within our walls.
The doors of our stonecutters’, furniture makers’, and woodcarvers’ workshops were wide open. Young and old watched with admiration the patience and precision with which natural stone and wood are transformed into true works of art.
The escape boxes created by BA Stassart students, games from faraway countries by our OKAN classes, the fine marquetry work, and the elegant bobbin lace demonstrations also attracted a lot of attention. Everywhere you could see wonder, curiosity, and respect for traditional craftsmanship.
Thanks to the great collaboration with our partners and the enthusiastic efforts of all participants, it was a day to cherish.
We look back with gratitude — and are happy to share below some photos and videos! The photos were also taken by our talented photography students.
