Crescendo CVO is introducing a new course: SOS French. This course is aimed at students in the third year of secondary school in Mechelen, designed to support their French language skills. "French is an important language, both in our education system and in society," says Marleen Mast, Director of Crescendo CVO. "With this course, we assist fifth and sixth-year students who struggle with French. Through SOS French, they will gain confidence and achieve better results in their assessments."
As a center for adult education, Crescendo CVO is committed to offering flexible and targeted training that meets the needs of students and the wider community. SOS French is a prime example of this approach.
“The SOS French course consists of 20 sessions, each lasting two hours. Under expert guidance, students will strengthen their grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. In short, they will improve their written and spoken French skills.”
The course content is aligned with the curriculum for the third year of secondary education. “We want SOS French to fit well with their schoolwork. That’s why we also consider the class schedules of our target audience. Classes will be scheduled on Wednesday afternoons, and we take into account exam periods and school holidays, so students can stay focused.”
"With these extra lessons, I hope French will no longer be like Chinese," says an enthusiastic sixth-year student who has already signed up.
Through this course, Crescendo CVO emphasizes the importance of accessible and high-quality adult education for everyone, regardless of age or background. “SOS French illustrates the added value of collaboration between secondary education and adult education. Adult education can serve as a vital complement, helping students succeed in their studies and later in their professional careers.”
