From 2 to 6 March, Crescendo CVO had the pleasure of welcoming four enthusiastic teachers from Istituto Ricasoli (Siena, Italy) for an inspiring Erasmus+ job-shadowing week.
During their stay, they visited not only our CVO but also three partner schools in the region — and returned home with a backpack full of ideas.

What stood out to them the most?
Our visitors were deeply impressed by the strong care culture within our schools. They discovered how we work with differentiation, student support and flexible classroom setups — and how teacher well-being is also an important part of our school policy.
They were equally enthusiastic about our practical learning spaces, especially the technical workshops, kitchen facilities and laboratories, which they described as “very high quality.”

Learning & Experiencing in action
The Italian teachers experienced our approach to active and authentic learning firsthand. The flex classroom — where students work independently, with guidance, or on advanced tasks — made a particularly strong impression.
They also loved the idea of using the school’s name as a carrier of school values, as seen at BA Stassart, and were inspired to try something similar in Ricasoli.

Comparing to learn
In the school of Heist-op-den-Berg, they explored how agricultural programmes are organized in Flanders and how theory and practice are seamlessly connected. They expressed interest in continuing the exchange with students through an online platform or videos.
They also noticed something universal: students everywhere… remain students.

Digital inspiration
A session on digital learning tools — from AI to the wide range of Teams applications — opened up new possibilities.
They are eager to try Reading Coach in their own classrooms in Italy.

To conclude : Our guests return home with new insights, fresh ideas and a genuine interest in further collaboration — including a possible eTwinning project.
