From floral arrangement to photoshoot: learning together, creating together. 05/06/2025

During de cursus Duurzaam bloemschikken on Wednesday evening, creativity gained an extra dimension when instructor Soetkin, together with her students, not only worked on an urn filled with flowers, but also organized a photoshoot to present the artworks in the right light.

She knew that one of her students, Kelly, earlier de opleiding Fotografie had followed courses at Crescendo CVO. The match was quickly made. Kelly put her new floral arrangement — and those of her fellow students — in the spotlight, both literally and figuratively, with a series of atmospheric images in the light of the setting sun.

Multiple talents, one place to grow

What makes this story special is how different courses strengthen each other. Because Kelly is not an exception: at Crescendo CVO, we encourage lifelong learning in the broadest sense. Whether you are creative, technically minded or have a talent for languages, you will find the right path with us – or simply move from one to another.

“This course is a perfect way to engage in creative activities in a relaxed way.”

Even our instructors find inspiration. In total, three of our teachers are taking floral design classes themselves. One of them, our French teacher, swapped her role as teacher for that of photographer that evening. With her camera, she captured the atmosphere of the photoshoot in a warm and stylish way, right from behind the scenes.

“We usually stand in front of the class, but during the floral design lesson we get to be students ourselves. This course is a perfect way to engage in creative activities in a relaxed way. And that evening, we mainly felt proud: of what we create together and of how each student can develop their talents,” say our fellow teachers.

Learning together, creating together

This sustainable floral design class became a textbook example of what we value at Crescendo CVO: learning together, doing together, and growing together. Thanks to the cross-pollination between courses, the passion of our teachers, and the talents of our students, something special is created time and again – whether it is a floral arrangement, a photograph, or a lifelong learning journey.
