Crescendo CVO is a centre for adult education (CVO) in Flanders, Belgium. For speakers of other languages we offer courses in Dutch as a second language (NT2) and language courses. Adult education is official education: you can obtain a recognised certificate.

Dutch as a second language (NT2)
- From beginner to advanced (A1 to C1), with extra modules to practise.
- Dutch combined with vocational training.
- Flemish Sign Language and Dutch for deaf newcomers.
- In the regions Mechelen, Lier – Heist-op-den-Berg – Berlaar, Halle – Sint-Genesius-Rode, Tervuren – Hoeilaart and Zaventem – Sterrebeek – Kortenberg, and online.
- Since September 2023, learners who want a certificate at level A2 (Richtgraad 1) must pass the NT2 test. You can take it in Mechelen, Tervuren, Halle and Sint-Genesius-Rode.

How to enrol for Dutch
- Step 1: intake interview. Go to a contact point of the Agentschap Integratie en Inburgering (Agency for Integration and Civic Integration). For the Halle or Sint-Genesius-Rode region, you can make an appointment with Crescendo CVO.
- Step 2: enrol at one of our administrative offices.
Bring your identity card and/or proof of legal residence in Belgium, money or a bank card (no credit cards) and, if you have one, a certificate from VDAB, OCMW or your civic integration programme. With such a certificate you pay less or no enrolment fee. More information: enrol for a Dutch course.
Language courses
- English, French, Italian, Spanish and Flemish Sign Language.
- In Mechelen, Tervuren, Halle, Sint-Genesius-Rode and Zaventem.
- Complete beginners enrol online at inschrijven.crescendo-cvo.be or at an administrative office (bring your identity card and bank card).
- If you already know some of the language, first take a level test via Mijn CVO.

Fees
The enrolment fee is calculated per teaching period and is set by the Flemish Government. Fees may change.
- English and French: € 2.25 per teaching period. Most English and French courses run for a full school year.
- Italian and Spanish: € 4 per teaching period. These courses run per semester.
- Flemish Sign Language: € 0.03 per teaching period, with a maximum of € 180 per course.
- Dutch as a second language (NT2): separate fees.
Course materials are paid separately. With the required certificates you may get a partial or full exemption from the enrolment fee, for example as a jobseeker, as a participant in civic integration, with a living wage or with a disability. More information: enrolment fee and exemptions.
Who can enrol?
- You are at least 16 years old, or 15 and you have completed the first two years of full-time secondary education.
- You are legally residing in Belgium.

- Flemish training leave for employees in the private sector, for French, English, German and Dutch. More information
- Training vouchers: the Flemish Government pays half. More information
Every learner receives a free Microsoft 365 account.
